Our Area
Most visitors to our corner of Northwestern Montana come to see Glacier National Park. There, you will find all the beauty and adventure you could dream of, from rugged mountains, crystal-clear lakes, and alpine forests to a healthy abundance of wildlife unique to these remote areas. Moss Mountain Inn is just minutes from the West Entrance providing easy access to many of the park's most spectacular attractions, such as Lake McDonald and Going-to-the-Sun Road.

Keep in mind that there are many other activities and attractions in our area outside of the park that you will want to consider.

You can unwind with fly or spin fishing in the multitude of lakes and rivers that offer up trout, perch, and bass. A guided fishing trip or just a solo casting will meet exactly what you are looking for. For camping and hiking, consider Flathead National Forest. The forest encompasses over 2.4 million acres and has over 2,000 miles of pristine trails and numerous campgrounds all within a short drive from the Inn.

Reviews and Awards

Moss Mountain Inn was the perfect base for our Glacier National Park adventures. The Grinnell Room was spacious with plenty of amenities. The bed was comfortable, and the view from our balcony was incredible -- the perfect place to start the day with coffee and a journal. The entire home was very clean, and I appreciate that they ask guests to remove shoes upon entry. The breakfast each morning was fresh with a lot of options. Sandy's scones were INCREDIBLE, and we had plenty of carbs and protein for a day of hiking. They even have some grab-and-go snacks for your hikes. The location is perfect, only about 10 minutes from the West Glacier entrance, 10 minutes from Columbia Falls, and 20 minutes from Whitefish. The B&B is situated in a quiet spot where you're surrounded by nature. We enjoyed stargazing at night on the grounds. Finally, the hosts were very warm and welcoming. Marguerite shared recommendations and was friendly to talk to. This felt more like staying at a relative's home than a Bed and Breakfast. I would have no reservations about staying here again, and if we are ever back in the area, we would definitely return to Moss Mountain Inn."

Close to the park, amazing place, so many amenities. Must stay here! Delicious breakfast and snacks. Able to borrow bear spray, jackets sunscreen and so much more. The grounds were beautiful with a pond with and 6 acres.

Moss Mountain is a real gem. My wife and I stayed there two nights and then another two nights later on. It is a beautiful building with lots of light wood trim set in the forest. There are four bedrooms with one on the first floor, one on the second floor, and two on the third floor. The rooms do not have their own TV but there is a very nice common TV room with a large wood stove that should come in handy in the winter. The bedroom on the first floor is small and the queen bed fills most of the sleeping area. It also has a shower and sink area and a small “closet” for the toilet. It is connected to the atrium which might be the best feature of the facility. The atrium is large (17 by 33 feet) and complete with tables and chairs, soft chairs, and a couch. Just sitting in the atrium and watching the surrounding nature makes for a great stay. The second floor has a bedroom and the kitchen area which has two dining tables that house 6 and 4 people. The breakfasts that we had were first-rate. Pancakes, bacon, German pancakes (like crepes), fruit, scones, egg dishes, etc. The new owner and cook are very engaging and we spent at least an hour at breakfast talking with them and the other guests. The owner also was a wealth of information about Glacier National Park, places to hike outside the Park, and things to do in the surrounding cities. Other specific attributes of Moss Mountain are that the beds were very comfortable (among the best we have ever had) and the B&B provided many essential items such as bear spray, sun screen, insect repellent, 4-way cell phone charger in each room, hot tub, kitchen area with microwave and fruit, nuts, and energy bars, a common area with Keurig coffee maker, tea, and refrigerator. We highly recommend this peaceful Bed and Breakfast.
